Jimmy is my favourite filmstar (not actor) of all-time and I love him in almost all sorts of roles.I do not have a favourite because I simply love him in anything he does. That said I have seen Harvey (1951) more times than his other movies.
Some underappreciated movies of Jimmy that I like: The Mortal Storm (1940) Of Human Hearts (1938) The Man from Laramie (1955)

I’ve also read the short story that the movie was based on.

The tension is so real and Jimmy has a slightly negative touch to his character in Rear Windows. All of that makes Rear Window a very unique movie.

All of that makes Rear Window a very unique movie. Yeah, he does!! I think it works so well in the movie because his character has to fight a little to get others interested in the crime he thinks has happened in his neighborhood. I like it when he is so annoyed by the detective not believing him that he slaps his scratcher stick (used for scratching himself inside his cast) on the cast several times. Smack, smack. Like an angry cat. The way you can tell when a cat is angry about something is when they slap their tails on the floor (back and forth from side to side). Jimmy is annoyed as hell when the detective doesn’t take his concerns seriously or finds some other reason to disbelieve him. It’s nice tension in the movie.
