Jayman --- Last time I heard the phrase "Cut a rug" was in the movie "Doctor at Sea. Oh from the 50's I use the phrase jokingly here and there. I was never one to follow current trends and pop culture. If I like an expression, I stick with it.

For some curious reason "Treasure Island" and Robert Newton flashed into what I call my brain. One of Newton's famous phrases from the Disney movie was "Shiver me timbers?" Does anyone know if it was a genuine saying or a movie or literary invention?

Back to dancing. I haven't been at a dance hall for at least 30 years. Is the expression "Please may I have this dance?" still in vogue? (Somehow I doubt it.) If not, what is?
