I have this on VHS with the changing cover art. Its a pretty basic slasher film but really makes zero sense. However its still a fun slasher film. I remember seeing the box at a gas station video store when I was a kid. It kinda freaked me out. Oddly enough the scariest part is at the end after the credits that shows a blooper where a guy on stilts falls off and looks like he almost died for real. If you want a film where a guy in a Uncle Sam costume blinds a teen with spray paint, has his knee bone go through his skin and then buried alive this is the film for you.

I own the Blue Underground DVD and I just finished watching it. Much like Maniac Cop, a previous William Lustig/Larry Cohen collaboration, Uncle Sam doesn't offer any logic but it's a lot of fun. A cool concept for a slasher film. Also, Larry Cohen's script does have some social commentary on the military mentality and how out of whack it can be.
Crooked politicians, tax cheaters, draft dodgers, flag burners, and military brass who take advantage of war widows...watch out! Uncle Sam is gonna get ya!
