For me it is probably Alfred Hitchcock with 26. Charlie Chaplin would probably be in 20+ list too as would be Buster Keaton. Kurosawa is at 16 which surprises me because I thought I saw more of his movies. Bergman & Bunuel in 10+ plus category which yet again surprises me because I thought I saw most of their films.
Roy William Neill is one which surprises me with high numbers...mostly because of Sherlock Holmes movies he made starring Basil Rathbone & Nigel Bruce and Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943) apart from that.

The author, critic and film theorist Stephen Thrower has been on a quest to see all of Jesus Franco's films and features on numerous dvd extras. I have some of his books on cinema including, his two books released on Franco.
I'd guess I've currently seen anywhere between 70 - 90 Franco films, but that's without counting. Last two seen, as released by Severin, were definitely 'Cries Of Pleasure' and 'Night Of Open Sex'.

That's a monster effort in itself. It sounds it, but for horror fans not so much. I discovered his work through cut versions issued by Redemption Video in the U K back in the early 1990s. Along with French genre filmmaker Jean Rollin (also mutliated and heavily censored versions), he was the horror director Redemption hooked me on early. Over time, I've seen more as the unbelievably bitchy, judgemental and petulant armchair critics of the early internet days have been swept aside and largely forgotten, especially since Franco received the Lifetime Achievement Goya Award; that was a great day.
