That was such an odd movie. It’s hard to believe it was made by the Coens. No one gave a bad performance that wasn’t it. The movie just was not very funny, whole tone was very odd and it felt very different from their usual stuff. The Coens are very capable of making a good remake just look at True Grit.
I never wanted to go back and watch this after it was over unlike the other Coen movies. Hell I’d take Hail Caesar over this and I despised Hail Caesar.
Would like to know your thoughts on this.

It is one of their lesser movies, but I mostly like it.
I like it as much as I like the original. Unlike a lot of remakes, it does feel like it's own movie.
6.5/10

Did not care for it. Except for Tom Hanks. It’s not exactly a good performance but it’s refreshing to see him play a more villainous character for a change.

It felt more like it was inspired by the original than a remake.

It is undeniably a remake.

Not a great movie by any means, but I gotta give credit to Tom Hanks. He went into his character totally, and was far and away the best thing about the film.
It seemed like Hanks was really enjoying being in a Coen brothers film. Would love to see that collaboration with a better film......

Dreadful, and the "brothers" admitted they got it totally wrong in how they approached it.

It seemed like the Coens were aiming for the lowest common denominator. JK Simmons' character was an extended fart joke, and Marlon Wayans was doing his Marlon Wayans thing, which has its place but I don't think gels with the Coens' style.

It's average/forgettable at the end of the day. I don't remember it being bad or anything but a bit weird which basically makes it more on the forgettable side of things.
Yeah, it's their #1 movie hands down. 8-8.5/10.
it's also much better than the 1969 movie which is below average(i.e. 4/10).

Didn’t they also wrote the Gambit remake? Does it count if they didn’t direct it?

I'm probably in the minority but I adore the Ladykillers remake, it's hilarious.
