This picture on another thread reminded me of this true story. This happened toward the end of my daylight shift. Our boss comes in the break room and say does anyone like hot peppers. Several of us say yes. He says try one but only take a little bit. We cut off a very small piece and let me tell you we were running for the water fountain. Well this trucker saw this and said he could eat anything no matter how hot it was. So he takes a whole pepper and eats it. He said see I told you so. We were impressed. So the trucker leaves and people start coming in for second shift. They say some trucker has gone nuts up the road. We ask whys that. They said he got out of his truck and was rolling all around in the snow. On my way home he was still there just sitting in the snow. I put my window down and yelled are you OK. He said I think so and wanted to know where the closest bar was. LOL

Hot peppers are no joke. A few years ago I was cutting up some jalapenos to put into my chili. I had a pile on the cutting board that I had de-seeded and ribbed, and another pile that I had just cut up, but hadn't cleaned yet. I wanted to taste a small bite and inadvertently grabbed from the untreated pile. It burned so badly, I basically couldn't eat for the rest of the day.
When they get distilled down into sauces and stuff, you can moderate it more easily (it still burns) but when you grab a raw one like that, whoa nelly. It's rough.
And that was just a jalapeno. You do that with one of those repears, it'll take the fight out of you.

I was dating this girl and she was dicing/slicing up hot peppers and going to freeze them for in the winter. She had those thin gloves on. I said why are you wearing them. She said so her hands did not burn. I said you big baby. Go do something else while I dice/slice these. It was a big batch but I got it done. We had I think pizza after that. All of a sudden my hands started burning a little. Did not think much of it. But within 1/2 hour here is how I spent the rest of the night. My hands were burning so bad I filled up a container with cold water and dumped ice in it and stuck my hands in it for the rest of the night. She was right. Should have worn gloves.

There's a reason why pepper spray is so effective!! Hot peppers - the great leveler of man.

There's a reason why pepper spray is so effective!klawrencio79 It sure is effective. I ride my bikes on old country roads and I said sometime mean dogs chase me. I said I wonder if I know I am going to get bit would I get in trouble if I shoot the dog with my pistol. A great posted called enigma72 suggested I use pepper spray on them. Well I am minding my own business riding my bike when this big dog comes charging, growling and barking at me. I take off as fast as I could and get a little distance between us but I am getting tired and the dog is still coming. I jump off my bike and pull my pepper spray out and when the dog is close enough I spray it right in its face. Dog stopped in it tracks. Went whimpering away on three legs and pawing its eyes with its other leg. And I am 100% sure that dog was going to bite the shit out of me. Now when on country roads I always carry pepper spray. Just hope I don't even need to use it again but if I do I have it.

haha. that's my pic.
those peppers were so gross. it wasn't even about the heat for me.
They had an incredibly waxy texture. They made squeaking noises when i cut them up and their flavor was disgusting. I'd rather just get a reaper hot sauce

Of course I had washed my hands before removing the contacts, but clearly not thoroughly enough. Then the next day I found that the lenses were still contaminated, even after spending the night in solution and cleaning and rinsing.

You know what they say, it's all fun and games until someone gets jalapeno peppers in his eyes!

Yeah, I had a pretty awful experience after rubbing my eyes after handling dried ghost peppers. Was in the shower till the water got cold and thinking I might have to call poison control or whatnot while being unable to open my eyes or see.
Still, I never seem to learn. Tried using gloves but too much of a pain in the ass. So I'm constantly getting myself.
