I envy you. Fresh garden tomatoes cannot be equaled.

I sometimes think about trying a "container" tomato plant on my back steps. But, I we don't get enough summer sun/heat this close to the ocean.
My parents lived in Sonoma, and I feasted on fresh tomatoes. Mmmmmmm.

We tried a garden when we were first married. The squirrels ate the tomatoes and the corn. We planted Golden Bantam and one morning I checked the corn before I left for work and decided they were ready to be picked. When I home, the cobs were still on the stalks but the squirrels ate all the kernels!!! I thought it was funny (I don't like corn) but WKD was upset at first then he started laughing. I wish the squirrels would have left him one ear and one tomato but they wiped out the whole garden. It was not because they were staving because I always put out shelled sunflower seeds and nuts for the wildlife.

Guess those are big problems for gardeners.
