What do you think of these movies?? I like them but it makes me sad when I watch them knowing that the person who helped make it passed away. Like The Dark Knight or Furious 7. What do you think of Posthumous movies?

What do you think of Posthumous movies? Yes, it is sad when an actor or actress doesn't live long enough to see their movie get to the screen. Eg: Peter O'Toole did not live long enough to see Decline of an Empire get its release.

It can be nice if it's a good film but I'm sure with some actors it's a poor film and not much of a legacy.
Blue Thunder was released after Warren Oates' death. I knew that before I watched it and didn't know if there would be something in the credits. I think it's at the end of the credits, and just said something like 'in memory of Warren Oates, thanks for all the laughs' and it made me a bit emotional, as I was a fan of his.

Not quite the same thing, but I'm always bothered by it when an actor's likeness is, through the magic of computer-generation, used for a film after his death. Apparently the latest Star Wars film (which I haven't seen--no real interest) digitally created re-created Peter Cushing--something about which I have more than a little concern, especially as St. Pete is one of my favorite actors. Ditto with Olivier in a movie that I otherwise quite like, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Indeed, the digital resurrection of these great actors simply seems ghoulish and dehumanizing to me. (See this weird article for the process of dehumanization in action.) I wonder if anyone else gets the same feeling.

They may have hated the director, the script or it may have material they find objectionable. But then again the possibilities are tantalizing.

And your points are spot-on. Yes, the possibilities may be tantalizing, especially for cash-mad Hollywood executives, but I think moral and ethical concerns should outweigh that. Should, not will, I hasten to point out. The penultimate sentence of this article-- --genuinely frightens me, I'm not ashamed to say.

In a good way or a bad way? Probably a bad way. Ah, but deep thinking makes life more whole and fulfilling. As Socrates (a smart fellow, he! ) put it, "The unexamined life is not worth living."
