Sorry, I can't find my glasses and read that as historical negotiations.
My favourite was the Treaty of Ghent, which more or less end the war of 1812 which meant that at the end of the conflict both sides ended up pretty much where they had started. It was tough on the poor buggers who were killed and mained, but happily the total casualties were not much more than when the pubs were cleared out in any US or UK garrison town.

Thanks feo! I couldn't read the whole article. It was painful to me. But interesting! Thanks It rather reminds me of the movie Custer of the West in which one of the Indians says that the White Men had stolen the Sioux's land. And Custer says so what. The Sioux stole the land from the Cheyenne and the Cheyenne stole it from the Pawnee etc etc. Right now the Yanks are going through a period of self abasement over its past. A few years it was sod it, we won, you lost ain't life a bitch. The pendulum will swing back in a few more years and most Americans will be thinking well, maybe we did hand out blankets infected with smallpox, but they were free so what is all the fuss about?

So history is 'not set in stone' so to speak. Ebbs and flows repeatedly. This is very comforting to me sad. Thanks!
