It's been called "toxic" in the press.

Based on what I've heard about it, if you're a David Byrne fan, you might not want to give it a read.

Based on what I've heard about it, if you're a David Byrne fan, you might not want to give it a read. The reviewer in 'The Times' last week, a major Talking Heads fan, cited many examples of this and said the scorn runs throughout the book. To be fair, David Byrne's long-held a reputation in punk circles for being sexist, perhaps more than any other notable first-wave punk artists. Debbie Harry, Tina Weymouth et al. are all said to have been on the sharp end of his cutting remarks and dismissals due to gender. But, whether this is true or not, I could not say. Also, it's not much fun being in a band with two members smooching uncontrollably.

You can take the man out of Dumbarton, but you can't take Dumbarton out of the man. Guitarist Jimmy McCulloch was also born in Dumbarton.

Guitarist Jimmy McCulloch was also born in Dumbarton. Indeed. The place has been on a downward spiral since the Vikings besieged it in the 9th century. That's a shame. Hopefully it can resurrect itself before long.
