Looks pretty terrible. I know Kevin Smith is not known for his aesthetics or anything, but this looks like it wasn't even made by professionals. That may just be the trailer, but I'm a little surprised by how weak and cheap this looks.

Kids from a Floridaian University made the film.

When I've heard him talk about making the movie it seemed that he was making it but using the students as his crew. So he still is to blame if it's as bad as it looks.

The comments made it out like he was in charge of getting Lunch or setting up lighting... I didn't listen to the Poscast he talked about the making of it. I really enjoyed "Red State". Watching the trailer to this was jarring.

I didn't listen to the Poscast he talked about the making of it. I really enjoyed "Red State". Watching the trailer to this was jarring. This is just from memory from a while ago when he spoke about shooting the movie on a podcast, but he speaks like that to come off as humble and self deprecating. He'd say things like how he didn't even really need to be there, and talked about how he would go buy food for the crew as they were setting up the lights. Which is a nice thing to do, but to me seems pretty inattentive. It's true that setting up a shot can take a lot of time and create a lot of downtime, but if you're directing there should always be something to do. So it speaks to him as being a nice and generous guy, but doesn't really seem to speak to the care he puts into directing. I didn’t especially love Red State, but it looked like a real movie and had a style to it. Even Tusk looked like a professional film. Yoga Hosers, less so. This kinda seems like he didn't care as much, like a feature length version of his truly terrible short in the anthology movie Holidays. But it's still his next feature as a writer/director. You'd think that would mean something.
