"Renny Harlin was fired from the production, because he made a creative decision that made Ray Bradbury very unhappy, and the producers decided to support Ray Bradbury."
I haven't seen the film but Ray Bradbury did an interview where he said the director asked if they could get rid of the butterfly thing completely. Bradbury said: "can you believe the idiot would suggest that?" After Harlin was fired Bradbury's agent sent him a giant inflatable butterfly.

The Blair Witch Project 87 minutes of card board characters swearing at each other and the ridiculous idea that people would actually be shooting a video of themselves while running through the dark woods in fear of their lives. Like millions of others I was snookered into a theatre to see this wretched excuse of something that looks like a rejected film school project and probably cost around $1.50 to make. One of the few movies that made me want to get my money back from the box office while the people who made it laughed all the way to the bank. Excellent horror movie. Scarier than most. The people who made it deserved the money I spent to see it in the theater, buy the VHS, buy the DVD and buy the Blu-ray.
