If we're gonna wear them, I say, let's make them cute as a button. For one thing, I think that they're not as frightening to children when they see us walking around with these daunting masks on. Imagine how much more approachable we would be to children on wearing some of these? Some of the other ones, well, maybe not for the kiddos, but they're pretty interesting. <-- that's not a mask, but I just want to hug him. <-- who wouldn't giggle at that?

Yes lets make it cute , it will take the USA of that no 1 spot of infections........ You don't have to get huffy about it. I wear 3 layer medical masks, or 5 layer masks when I can. I do everything I can to be responsible. I thought I would interject some fun into a very serious subject that's tearing the world apart, and I used the subject of not scaring children as a way of using cute masks so we don't frighten little kids. Why do you have to be crotchety about something we have to now have as part of our lives? Does it make you feel better?

My daughter got octopus print fabric face masks. My husband has solid color fabric face masks. Their masks are washable. I just use the disposable medical masks. Just got another box. I saw some really cute ones when we were on vacation. Me, the way I am, I'd want to coordinate them with my outfits.

I have both the disposable kind, and the machine washable ones that have different patterns on them. The one I have that I like the most has this beautiful Japanese print on it. I almost don't want to wear it. It's white with a pink cherry blossom on it with a hit of gold and a green leaf.

TheOriginalPinky But I have to admit I did order the one with the pink piggies on it. I don't know why, but it made me giggle and I just loved it! I'm not sure what it'll go with. I suppose anything pink, or denim, or white. But it caught my eye.

Several women in our town make masks out of a variety of different fabrics, they charge five bucks each. I haven't bought one yet but I've been tempted. So far I'm just wearing disposable masks.

I almost bought some cloth masks at Walmart BUT It says right on the package 'Not for medical use' I'm sticking with the disposables sarge

Some make the wearer look like a monster. Talk about scary for kids! It is scary to me! I am probably what some consider OCD with regards to being protective. I wear surgical booties on my feet when I go indoors because people who do not wear masks breathe and their breath creates droplets which land on the floor and it gets all over our shoes. People don't think about that, but our shoes pick up aaaaaalllll sorts of stuff inside stores, it gets on the top of our shoes, it gets imbedded in the tracks of our soles. So I wear surgical booties. In the trunk of my car I keep a doubled up trash back for security. I put my disposable masks on and booties on, go through the store. When I'm done shopping and doing errands, I get to my car, take off my mask and booties, INVERT THEM so no particles fly off, and put them in a folded up baggy then in the garbage bag in the trunk. If I have a mask that I'll be washing, I keep ziploc bags in my car, I take the mask off outside the car, INVERT IT, put it inside the ziploc bag and seal it, bring it inside, sealed, and take it in the house only to unzip it when it's time to do laundry. My best friend works in the medical field and she was the one who told me about wearing booties. She wears them and so does her husband and both of her sons, and her grandkids. I didn't really think about it until she explained it to me how those droplets can get into/onto our shoes and we track that into our cars and houses. It freaked me out. It helps having a friend in the medical field (either that or it makes me paranoid?) lol I dunno, but I guess it doesn't hurt to do what I'm doing.

I love bright colors for T-shirts and casual jackets. I just received a shipment of masks from ETSY that are solid colors. Three are bright ... yellow, light green and lavender/purple. One is just plain white, and the last one is somewhere between silver, and a "denim," look. There are 10 of each. I wore a purple one, this morning, with a favorite purple jacket. It got rave reviews! There's a tailor's shop, near me, that will make masks from any "cotton-ish" fabric that you bring to them (it has to be "workable" for a mask). People are bringing in old shirts, pillow cases, etc.. As long has we have to wear them, we might as well try to make it fun.

A nurse friend has also alerted me to COV19 on our shoes. She works with COV19 patients. I looked it up and decided not to wash my shoes . But it can't hurt autumn. After shopping I take a bath, wash my hair, launder my clothes. Can't hurt to be super safe .

That's the thing, with a best friend who works in the medical field, I've learned a lot about transmission of diseases. She got the booties for me, and I figured if she and her family are wearing them, then she's onto something. It's just a lot easier for me to take off my mask and booties and discard them and put them in plastic baggies and dispose of them. I don't go out very often, so it's a do-able thing for me. I trust her very much and she's helped me a lot.
