I think it’s gonna lose a lot of subscribers. Trouble? Too early to tell. If they continue to go down this route which they might, then yes.

overcharging for Mulan sounds desperate. they spent 350m on it , do they have a choice? 350 million on a remake of a B-list Disney movie? They must be really banking on the Chinese market, that's the only way I can think of to justify that much money on this film.

I'm including 150m on worldwide marketing they spent months ago before they pulled the release

So they’re asking viewers to spend $30 to rent it? That’s pretty expensive even for a movie ticket. I think they’re doing it in case the family wants to watch along, which would mean it would cost more anyway. But yeah, that’s just plain dumb.

I don't really think $30 is that unreasonable considering the situation. Invite a few friends over, order a pizza and have them kick in a few bucks. Be happy you get to watch a new movie.

They have 60 million subscribers, despite the service being less than a year old, so I’m gonna say no. They probably aren’t in any trouble.

People loved it when it came out. That being said, giving it a budget on par with Avengers: Endgame is absurd.

Compared to Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Lion King? I don't mind it, but it doesn't seem to have quite as big of a fanbase as those other movies. Though I still vastly prefer it to Pocohauntus.

They aren't overcharging unless you are all alone. Then you just have to wait six months or so and pay nothing with the subscription.
Disney Studios is the one in trouble anyway since they don't get the release in theaters.

Now charging a premium for movies since they are running out of money cause their parks were closed . It's shady.

This was a theatrical release. Nothing shady about it. So was Artimis Foul , Hamiton , and they moved it to D+ like Mulan and now charging $30 extra fee Youre missing the point. Each of those were decisions based on each individual movie that was meant for theatrical release. This was their billion dollar movie. No one had those same expectations for the other two and it’s silly to pretend they’re in a similar level. Those two movies would help Disney+ grow whereas Mulan was going to lose them money. This is a nothingburger as you are under no obligation to purchase it...and to be clear you are buying it and not renting it. However, rentals of new releases are 25 bucks. Onward was 25 bucks to rent. Trolls was 25 bucks to rent. The only difference is this is a movie you want to see. No matter how you slice it, this is a silly thing to get bent out of shape about

I think that Disney+ is all Disney have to rely on right now due to the pandemic continuing on.
