Director Zack Snyder took to VERO today and revealed a new design for Darkseid's herald Steppenwolf, the villain from Justice League played by Game of Thrones' Ciarán Hinds. Snyder shared the new upgraded Steppenwolf, who will appear in the Snyder Cut of Justice League, with the comment: "Just working today pulled this out of the editorial sorry he’s Low resolution but I’ve seen him in all his hi-Rez glory and he’s a thing to behold quick question... how many f@*ks do you think he gives "

I’d assume this would be the part of the project that would take the most amount of time to finish. The design for Steppenwolf that we ended up seeing in the theatrical film was already the design that was used when Snyder was involved, since it was a compromise that he had to reach with WB. This means that the VFX team has to redo every single one of Steppenwolf’s scenes, much like what Paramount did with the Sonic movie.

Wasn’t there something more bestial and reptilian looking?

Looks like a mix of both.
Man, I can't wait to not get HBO Max.
