I like some old Disney b&w shorts. Santa's Workshop 1932. I've it on my Walt Disney Classic Shorts Vol. 7 dvd: Mickey's Christmas Carol Of course, it's not bad animation, simply rudimentary for obvious early era reasons. Lots of recycled animated movements within shots... & yet truly part of the charm.

I like a lot of the PEANUTS movies (and shows). Their animation looks the way it does due to the low budget, but I feel it plays to their strength. Much like a lot of the FOX adult cartoons, the lack of constant movement makes the dialogue-driven humor funnier. I think this was true with Tex Avery and Warner Bros. cartoons--like Friz Freleng ones. Many jokes came from the staccato effect--jump cuts in the drawings and reactions (the MGM Avery cartoons of the 1950s got even more limited in movies--like the short Symphony of Slang).

I love the 1974 "Jack and the Beanstalk". I attempted to watch it on you tube not so long ago. Perhaps I didn’t give it long enough, but I couldn’t stand the voice acting. The same actress does most of the voices, including Jack's. I can see why you might find it off-putting. I think the movie is spellbinding. And Madame Hecuba absolutely terrifies me. I don't know who is scarier, Madame Hecuba or Maleficent.

Maybe it's me but I thought that Heavy Metal had good animation. Me too. It raises the question do we base the animation on current standards because that seems unfair for non Disney films. At the time Heavy Metal was cutting edge animation and it still stands up decently.

I wonder why the marketing team chose that image of the terminator bot to be the poster boy for the film? That's a good question. I tried to find the the answer, and in the process discovered that there was apparently an alternate poster which, IMO, is nowhere near as good: So my guess is that Necron 99 was chosen because he looks cool. I don't even know who is pictured on the other poster - is that supposed to be Elinore? And IMO I prefer this alternate version. Both of them do show the conflict of war. This one more than the previous and that is what the movie is about. I dunno if it is supposed to be anti war at all. Will this world ever find any peace ever or will it be at war for millions of years as the film depicts? That would be sad if it was the latter. She does not look like Eleanor. I think it is artistic license if it is or else it is just a random fairy.

Wizards which has already been mentioned. It used to come on FOX Movie Channel all da time, not so much after they changed their name to FXM. I was thrilled back when i randomly found da bluray in a shipper at Best Buy.
Most reviews i've read on imdb and from critics people HATE da rotoscoping. I like it and think it makes da movie stand out and it works giving da weapons of war and soldiers a uniquely off kilter and sinister look.

According to Wikipedia: As an artistic choice, I think the rotoscoping is a mixed bag, i.e., some sequences are more effective than others. But as a budgetary choice, I can't fault Bakshi for going the rotoscoping route. He was paying for it out of his own pocket, and thus went with the fastest/cheapest method possible.

I love Last Unicorn but the animation is very choppy.
I wish they would remake it.

"Robin Hood". I mean it's not terrible, but it does reuse a lot of animation from "The Jungle Book"

"Robin Hood". I mean it's not terrible, but it does reuse a lot of animation from "The Jungle Book" I didn't know this. Interesting. Its deeper than that. Residing old rotoscope stuff starts with a Snow White and goes into at least Beauty and the Beast. It was a Disney business practice. Robin Hiod was largely reviled shots of several movies with a new script.
