It's the joy of being able to taste a lemon meringue pie without having to eat the super sweetness of the crust. This is so cool, and I just found them at the grocery store. I found a bunch of really new things on my last trip. I'm guessing that things are back in stock (either that or my timing was better because I was able to actually find the coveted item of EGGS!). So I picked up a few new things to try this time around. Reviews to follow. These are an 8/10. Nice balance of tangy & sweet and no crust is a plus. PS: I'm having a hard time posting an image. I'm hoping these don't end up posting with a dozen copies of the photo!

Just take care not to pick up the cat treats by mistake. I don't have any kitties so there's no chance of that happening.

I buy them when I see them. And they seem to be gone as soon as the store puts them out. I usually try to buy a lemon meringue pie when they are on sale for 4 or 5 bucks.

I'm wondering if I should try to make one by hand. I've tried the ones in the supermarket but they taste very "chemical-y" and sugar-y" and just so dreadfully sweet. Don't get me wrong, these jello cups are sweet too. But without the sugar in the crust, these are nicer and cleaner to enjoy. I wish the "meringue" on top was more authentic, however.

You should give making one a try. Make it to your own liking. Having a skill such as Lemon Meringue Pie maker is a great one to have.

I think they are fairly cheap in price too.

Making the meringue can be a bit tricky.

Just take care not to pick up the cat treats by mistake. My cat liked lemon meringue pie when he was young but does not want to try it anymore.
