I know the traditional way you do this is like frying shrimp, you dip them in an egg batter, then flour, then fry them, or instead of flour use cornmeal. I've never done the egg thing, I know shrimp turns out delicious but for tomatoes, it just sounds gross. What I've started doing is slice the tomatoes as thin as possible, dip them in flour with a little salt and pepper, put them in a skillet of bacon grease, fry them until they get real thin and curl and a little crispy like potato chips, fry them until there's just a little green in the centers, then drain them, salt them again and eat them. They are delicious.

Nah, they're great. It's very hard to describe but they can get addictive.

I pulled one of my last two tomato plants today. Hope I can get a few green tomatoes to try. The fires seem to be affecting my tomato production

Sorry to hear that, we're pulling up our oldest ones right now as they've given up, we planted more seeds after the first batch came up, so we have some smaller, younger ones we're hoping keep going for another month.

Let me know if that works. We've never had luck after Labor day.
