Saw this ad for Skrewball peanut butter flavored whiskey. I would definitely try it, but I don't think I'm going to rush out and buy a whole bottle.

Give me a heads-up when someone markets bacon-flavoured vodka.

I'm working on making a Peanut Butter-Chocolate alt-cheesecake right now.
Trying to change one of the most decadent desserts that exists into health food. It's not easy, but I'll make it happen, and
It will be glorious.

When news of this product reach Scotland, there will be so many bodies rolling in their graves that it will cause an earthquake!

"Saw this ad for Skrewball peanut butter flavored whiskey. I would definitely try it, but I don't think I'm going to rush out and buy a whole bottle."When I saw this, I thought that it must be something that has popularity within a small regional area. But, I looked at the website, and they seem to have strong distribution. When I entered my zip code, for locations, I found many, including the liquor store closest to me. They're closed on Monday. But, I'll talk to them tomorrow, to see what they have to say. I can't promise that I'll "take one for the team," and buy some. That'll depend on how much a small bottle costs. More, later.

I would try it if someone else was buying.

I would try it if someone else was buying. Well... IF I were to buy some, and ... IF I were to dislike it, and ... IF I can't palm it off on someone nearby (an unlikely scenario) ... We might be able to work it out. Who knows?

Give me a heads-up when someone markets bacon-flavoured vodka. There's lots of bacon flavored vodka out there. But here's one: www.bakonvodka.com/

I talked to the gentleman who runs the store near me. He only carries one size, which looks to be 750 ml, like a standard bottle of wine. It's $30.00, so I'm going to pass on it for a taste-test.
He described it as "not bad," which is open to anyone's interpretation. He said it's "not sweet, as so many flavored whiskeys are." Those are his words, and I have no expertise in that. I have 2 favorite Bourbons, and that's about it.
He said that the peanut butter is "flavor forward," and it's not "subtle." He sells about 3 cases a year, which he considers to be "fairly popular, for a single-brand, novelty product."
The website indicates that it's available in several national, regional chains.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the flavored bourbons and whiskeys. They taste too artificial and frankly, I'd rather taste the nuances of the particular spirit itself, not some artificially infused stuff.
I travel around Vermont a lot during the winters and spring and you see all these maple-flavored whiskeys and bourbons all over the place. While I do love maple in general, the spirits are good for a one-time taste when you're at the distillery or if someone has a bottle and you want a little taste. Anything more than that is just overkill. Give me the regular stuff.

"Four Roses," is subtle, and "Maker's Mark," is fuller in flavor. Last year, is was in a hotel in D.C., and went to a store to buy a couple of "minis." The only one they had was flavored with cinnamon. As you feel about maple, I feel about cinnamon. And, it's not as far-afield from complementing alcohol, as is peanut butter. like you, I prefer it un-enhanced.

I finally got around to buying a bottle yesterday. I got it in a small (375ml) size bottle. Still, it was $17.00 - that's before about 25% combined liquor/sales taxes were added on.
I was pretty busy, so when I got home I only had a wee sip. It tastes sweet and "nutty" - but not precisely peanut butter-ish. In fact it reminds me a little of Frangelico, that Italian hazelnut-flavored liqueur. It's pleasantly tasty... I liked it. I'll probably keep some around. Might make a nice treat for a visitor at the dinner table, too.
