Live and let eat, and all that. I just find it quite surprising to see queues of people outside the local McD's waiting for their McFood. There's obviously a limited customer footfall allowed in the places these days and lots of people are content to wait outside for quite a while in order to get in. I'm not talking about queues of vehicles at a drive-thru but people standing on the street.
But indeed, why shouldn't they love their McFood so much as to queue for it in the street? It just surprises me when they could be home making their own delicious hamburgers and fries etc. Do you think McDonald's is, if not addictive, than possibly habitually seductive, for some McPeople, no matter the lengths it takes to get hold of it?

I think the advertisement works. We see ads day after day for years. It wears on you! Stag I like the chicken salad. Do you like McD's food? Oh! And the air quality is absolutely poor. The light is an eerie color. Ugh

enigma72 I must confess a love of their McMuffins, particularly the sausage patty and egg one, although I haven't had it for quite a while. The 'daytime' menu I never cared for, although if it isn't too much hassle I may go in out of curiosity for a chicken salad, if they serve it over here, that is; I should think that they would, for the healthy angle. Yes, the adverts are relentless, aren't they!

It is good and not too unhealthy. Btw we can have breakfast all day here. And my husband and I get the egg mcmuffin too! It is addictive to me! (Precovid of course)

They shut down breakfast at 11am sharp (used to be 10.30am) and if it's ten seconds past 11:00 you're out of luck, the menu boards behind the counter have swivelled around to 'lunch' menu and breakfast is gone, even though you can still see a wrapped muffin or two on the out-slide behind the server. What happens to the unsold breakfast items that survive the deadline but can't be served? There's just no leeway and you can end up feeling like Michael Douglas a few seconds late for breakfast at the 'Whammy Burger', if you've seen the film Falling Down! Hey, take care with that air quality. Please let it end soon.

That is really much easier said than done. Making your own hamburger and fries is not THAT simple.
I like the convenience of McDonald's and I eat there probably about two or three times a month, but I would never stand on a queue outside for their food. If the place is that full, I'll go somewhere else.

Also, a sprinkling of those sachets of black pepper on a muffin adds to the pleasure! enigma72

Humans can adapt to most anything. I'm sure they don't like the lines but accept it as the new way of doing things. And don't underestimate McD's, they became a huge brand by being good at their job. Marketing can make most people believe almost anything, look at the state of American politics. But McD's burgers aren't bad if you find a good franchise. In northern states I find the fries soft but in the south they tend toward crunchy. In my area McD's and most fast food places are gross, most restaurants aren't much to speak of either. Chickfila is okay, they seem to be more consistent.

It's probably just easier for many people. I do like an occasional Quarter Pounder with cheese and they have great french fries.
