Seems a tad late although I know part 3 is supposed to be in development. A crossover series of classic crime fictional characters would be kind of interesting. Like if he fights Fu Manchu with assistance from Arsene Lupin.

How would that work anyway and what would it built up to? I suppose it would be fun to see Sherlock Holmes cross-over with Sam Spade and Philip Marlowe.

As long as Sherlock is played by a black female lesbian gay transgender man who is half-Chinese in a wheelchair who is also blind.

Not sure whether this would work.
I would love to see a Sherlock Holmes anthology series though where Holmes and Watson could be played by different actors in each episode. They could adapt some of the weirder pastiches verging more into steampunk, horror, fantasy, sci-fi territory. There have also been some good Doyle/Lovecraft crossovers.

Sherlock Holmes Meets Jessica Fletcher would be a great TV movie.

Don't really see the whoop. It's not as if there haven't been literally dozens of literary ventures where Holmes meets up with characters outside of the Doyle universe, some translated to film. Since I was never a fan of Downey's Holmes anyway, I don't have much feeling about it apart from the fact of not really wanting to see the character dumbed-down into yet another idiotic comic-book franchise type of deal.

He'll have to keep waiting. They put the 3rd movie on hold.
