I like both, but I got give it a slight edge to U2 because they never broke up and have a stronger body of work.

Never cared for U2. Yawn-worthy music.

If I never got to hear either again, the few songs I might miss would be U2's.

I'd rather listen to Axl's solo group version of GN'R than U2....

In the 90s? Definitely GnR. Nowadays I'm kind of over GnR, but U2 has some songs that I'll still turn up on the radio.

If I had to listen to one or the other for an extended period, I'd choose U2 over Hacksell Rose and Slush, each and every time. I pretty much hate GNR, even though I've seen them live at their peak.

Guns N' Roses any day of the week.
I can rock out to Paradise City (1987) for hours and never become bored. They have some pretty fantastic music.

Were GNR good live? They were alright. I saw them in the 1980s in NYC at a private industry invite-only show at a small club in the Village. I managed the biggest record store in Queens at the time, and scored a ticket. They seemed very rough and raw, and, at times, very unprofessional in attitude ( especially Axl). Saw them again just a few years back in Detroit, and it was GnR in name only, the "Axl's band" period, ya know? They (he) have tarnished their image with so much stupid bullshit over the last two+ decades, that I find it difficult to care at all about any of them anymore. Oh, and I've seen Slash's solo band(s) a few times, each time with huge line-up changes. It can and does turn off some fans, especially those who might otherwise be dedicated mega-fans. I've been in several bands, too; the very best ones were the ones where we all got along well, and had a cohesive vision of what we were trying to accomplish. I've seldom seen members of GnR enjoy either of those uniting traits.
