I think they are great. They are so much more convenient than always using wall plugs.
They're only about the size of a smartphone. And I get about 6 or 7 charges out of mine.
I can put my phone charger on the seat, couch, or bed next to me and keep using my phone while it charges.
Who wants to walk across the room (or around the house) to find a wall plug? And then you have to keep walking back and forth to answer the phone, check your texts, emails, surf the Internet, etc.
And I live in the Gulf South --- hurricane territory. If my phone charger is charged up, I still have power when the power goes out.
And I bring them with me on trips to other places and out of town. I always have power.
What do you think?

It takes about 5 to 6 hours to fully charge my portable phone charger from 0 to 100 percent power. But then I get about 6 to 7 charges out of it.
It only cost about 20 dollars. I'm gonna buy another one so I have two. Then while one is charging, I'll still have another ready to use.

Yes. I rarely need it, but I like to have it with me when I have to drive long distances. If my car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, at least I can use my phone.

Although I like portable chargers and ticked the “great” option I’d go more for “very useful”. When I go out for a long trip I usually make sure my (cheap) charger is fully charged and packed even though most times I don’t use it.

I have 3. my money didn't pay for them. It's good to have more than one. So one is always fully charged when you're using the other.

I have 4 powerbanks for years. They're always fully charged but I still have never ever used them. Not once have I taken one with me whenever I go out. Either my phone still has power or I'm always near an outlet to recharge.

I have a charger that can charge your phone, jump start your car and even inflate your tires. I've rarely used it as a charger. I've jump started way more cars than I've charged phones.

I just bought a second one. I see some great deals on chargers at Amazon. Many chargers are bigger, stronger and even less expensive.
But I'm single, and I live alone. The one(s) I chose are the the slimmest and lightest. Those bigger chargers have twice the power, and some can charge two devices at once.
I personally don't need all that power. And they're usually heavier. And I figure those unnecessary added features (flashlight, display) are just things that add weight and fragility.
The one(s) I chose are simple, sleek and durable. And I can use one while the other is charging or already powered up. I always have power. Those bigger ones are heavy and they take twice as long to charge up. And once they run out of power, you got nothing.
The chargers I chose only take about 5 to 6 hours to charge. Those bigger more powerful ones take 9 to 12 hours.
Mine are so small I can easily carry, store or pack. Those bigger ones are bigger, bulkier and heavier.
Everybody is different. But I chose the chargers I chose for those reasons.

No. I have no need for one. Outlets are convenient no matter where I sit; and if there is a power failure, I have three cars in which to charge it.

I have a cord that plugs into my phone on one end, and into an outlet on the other end. Isn't that a "portable" charger? I'm tough ... I grew up in the day when one had to walk to the TV, in order to change the channel/volume. I don't even have Suri, or Alexa play music for me. I suspect that they're both irked, and they probably sit around and gossip about me. But, I don't care.

You can carry it around with you, and plug your phone into it to charge the phone when a wall outlet is not available. I think portable phone chargers are more convenient than always having to plug into a wall outlet. Because in the latter, the phone is tethered to the wall outlet when charging. If you are the kind of person who rarely uses your cellphone, I guess it doesn't matter. But many people these days use their smartphones constantly --- to make and answer calls, to send and receive texts and emails, to watch movies and TV shows, to listen to music, and to surf the Internet. These people don't want to search a room, house or building for a wall outlet. And they don't want to have to walk back and forth to the phone to do all the things they want to do.

I have a powerbank that I use when I'm traveling. I've grown pretty reliant on the map apps (I'm a bit directionally challenged), and I don't want to run out of battery and get completely lost. It's also handy for multi-day treks when there is no electricity.

My umbilical cord was cut at birth. I didn't develop a new one, with the introduction of smartphones.

"You sound like somebody who doesn't use their cellphone much."Define "much." As in often. You just have one because "everybody has one now". Your kids wanted you to have one in case of emergencies. You only make and receive phone calls on it. You don't text. You don't access the Internet on it. You still have a land line.
