Can you guess what the red signifies below apart from the fact that it is pointing to the US?

Got to be something bad.
Okay, I'm going to go way out on a limb here and guess it signifies the most deaths from Coronavirus.

It's something just different you guys do than the rest of us. I am not good at riddles so don't know how to give hints. May be some time and some date I will learn to give hints?

Only country that writes the months first instead of the day. Yeah, you got it. At least among the important countries, they are the only one. Although ISO 8601 intends to make YY/MM/DD the international standard instead of DD/MM/YYYY

I was gonna say largest number of tv's per capita and fattest asses on the planet. But it looks like Feologild got it.
What do the colors signify?
Greenland, Somalia and The Philippines - what could they possibly have in common?
Their (Philippines, Somalia etc) alternate format is MDY. Although their legal format is dd/mm/yyyy. I think not in near future but eventually in the distant future standards will merge. Don't think US will hold such a large economy relatively speaking so as to not converge to world standards. It will be inefficient and costly for them not to converge. Already US accounting standards are getting influenced by IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
