The only ones "set" here that come to mind: Leprechaun 3, Hostel 3, and the Fright Night remake.
Born here: Cabin Fever's Cerina Vincent and Halloween: Resurrection's Thomas Ian Nicholas.
Ghost stuff: uh, they said the Riviera was haunted, but they demolished that bitch.

I live near inner-city Dublin. Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, lived ten minutes from my house and a Bram Stoker festival is held in the locality every October.
A former murderer's graveyard is situated 5 minutes from my house.
Several brutal murders have occurred nearby over the last decade. A few months ago, a local found the dismembered body parts of a murder victim in black bags that had been dumped next to his house. The victim was not the first person to have been killed and dismembered locally.

Sadly nothing horror-related has ever happened in the German town where I live. It is also the home town of director Tom Tykwer. The closest he came to directing a horror movie was probably with Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer.
My parents hail from Transylvania though. My father was born not far away from the home town of legendary actor Bela Lugosi.
