I mean in a region where you have to use mosquito repellent so that you don't get bitten by mosquitos. or have you ever lived in such an area even in past? This is what I use:

Yes. Catman just stays inside during peak mosquito hours.

Not bombarded with them, but do spray repellent on myself because even a bite or two are annoying.

Just powered on good night activ + Hope they go away soon. India is world capital of mosquitoes. And where I currently is India's mosquito capital and so you can imagine.

We've been having drought conditions, so one benefit has been that there's no standing water in which for them to breed lately.

Aj we have Mosquito abatement districts in central California.
They spray pesticides, put minnows in water; and it works!
We hardly have any mosquitos.
Of course our annual rainfall is only about 12 inches. That helps too

We get cool temps and fog in the summer. No self respecting mosquito would waste his time, here. However, you don't have to go far inland to get "the experience."
As Enigma said, mosquito abatement is pretty effective. When my uncle was failing, I used to spend a few days helping him with cooking, shopping, housekeeping, etc.. The property next to his was vacant, and for sale. I saw a smallish pond, with what looked like what might have been eggs, just under the surface. I called the county, and they were out there in less than an hour. The gentleman treated it ... emphasizing to me that it wouldn't harm the deer, and other "furry friends," that might drink from it.

Yes, and I hate them. There are two types of insects that don't need to exist - Roaches and Mosquitos.

We have mosquitoes during the summer, but not this time of the year. Right now, the biggest nuisance I'm dealing with is cluster flies. When the weather starts to get colder, they begin attacking my house trying to find shelter, and my 1890's era windows don't exactly do an awesome job of keeping them out. I tried caulking the windows and putting duct tape on the edges, and they still get in. Sometimes I swear they just appear through spontaneous generation. Sigh. Very frustrating. It's definitely one of the drawbacks of living in the country.

We get them seasonally in the Summer. If it's a very wet Summer, they are a bother.
