Apparently there were at least 6 others at one campus in the past 3 years.
I was previously enrolled 2011-2013 and hadn't heard about things like this at the time. I wonder if the rate is going up or if it's just easier to hear about it these days with Reddit and such.

Why do you think that is? The lockdowns have been attributed to increased mental health problems which often result in self harm and suicide.

I’m a Londoner. We’re not good at reaching out... Define what a Londoner in particular or an Englishman in general means by "Northerner"? Are they considered uncultured? More Scottish or Celtic? Or is it just regionalism? The joke is based around the popular conception that people from up north are friendlier and more open than people from down south. They also drink proper tea...

Who could ever be more from north than Sean Bean? He soul is from the north.

When I was studying in the early 2000s there was a rumour that over the years several students had committed suicide by jumping off the top of the campus buildings. It was a very modern university made up of very ugly high-rises, and I remember one of the reasons given was that they just couldn't stand the depressing atmosphere radiating from these hideous modern concrete buildings, which might as well have been a joke. I didn't know anyone personally who would've died this way.
But I knew a student of medicine who told me that among them suicide rates were particularly high, because studying medicine was so stressful and hard, that some students just cracked under the pressure.
