This is a little O/T but I do feed the wildlife. This morning my Norwegian Forest cat, Mikey, was staring at something under a chest in the living room, I thought he was staring at a giant rat toy. I went to retrieve it but it turned out to be a possum!!! WKD and I were worried that there was a hole in our roof because we couldn't figure out how it got into the house. I went into to garage to get a cat carrier and saw possum poop all over. He must have come in the garage this morning when I went outside a 2:30 am to feed the feral cats and wildlife and then followed me into the house later. My close up vision is lousy since my cataract surgery - I probably thought it was one of my cats. We coaxed it into the screened in patio and opened the door to the forest. He's still in the patio, hopefully he'll leave soon, I don't like leaving the door open because I worry about other animals inviting themselves in. At least it wasn't a raccoon, the raccoons often party on my roof at night. Mikey is marching around singing the song of cat warriors. He is very proud of his possum find.

i used to have squirrels show up in my living room in the winter when it got cold.... In our first house, 2 female squirrels got into the "attic" and had their babies, we had to wait until they grew up and left before we could repair the peak in the house where they were getting in, we could hear them chattering all day and night. We also discovered nuts in living room in a corner, turns out there was a small hole near the gutter and the squirrels were dropping their nuts down the hole. The house was old. I used to have a one eyed squirrel, Rufus. He passed away when we were living in Las Vegas.
