By Greydon Clark "A poisonous cat. Now how is that possible?" or something quite similar is said by one of the characters in this absolute cheese fest of a b-movie horror film, and where we get to witness a group of older criminal men trying to scheme their way out of the country and towards where the big money is. But in order to fool the goverment, they are "helped" out by taking on board a few students along the way. What they did not expect, is that a furry little creature also decides to join in on the fun, and pretty soon all hell breaks loose. As an escaped mutant cat from a high-tech laboratory, suddenly have a talent of showing up as the party pooper. I have always enjoyed this trashy (so-bad-its-good) title, and where the special effects is pretty much a bunch of laughable hand puppets, some oversized teddy bear, and a cute little kitten, and the rest is just classic b-movie over-acting, by a very cartoonish crowd of people.

Looking through Greydon Clark’s filmography. It’s very much his style. Stupid, but a lot fun. Which cut did you see? Had been interested in picking up the Vinegar Syndrome due to it having both cuts. At the moment I got a DVD copy which is paired with Wing Hauser’s ‘Mutant’. IMDb trivia; Alternate international version that's 93 minutes long. This version has a different opening and ending, spends a bit more time developing the characters, and features a topless scene from Suzanne. This version is featured as an extra on the Vinegar Syndrome release of the movie.

Looking through Greydon Clark’s filmography. It’s very much his style. Stupid, but a lot fun. I guess that is pretty much the best way of describing his films, or at least of those I have seen yet (Without Warning, Joysticks and Uninvited). Still, he does seem to get a lot out of his actors, especially the older/veterans, like George Kennedy, Jack Palance and of course Martin Landau, who seemed to really love doing these kind of cheesy but very enjoyable b-movies during that decade. My DVD copy, is that of an 2009 version released by Cheezy Flicks (very fitting name), and where the run time is about 90 minutes, more or less. Kind of want to check up further on that Vinegar Syndrome release, as I sure do enjoy my 80s horror b-movies, with lots of cheese, and also interesting that it comes with a bit more scenes, as well as a different opening and ending. Anyway, thanks for the information.
