I must cook the cabbage family members all wrong .... no particular "stink" when they cook and what veggie odor they do give off is gone as soon as any other cooking smells. Lid off and don't overcook ! Hmm, but if you're trying to steam veggies, the lid has to be on. Do you just fry your veggies? What do you do? Never fails, but no matter how I prepare them, it's a stink-fest, lol

autumn Mostly by not over cooking. I sort of stir fry but it's more a watery than an oily cooking. I cooked fresh cauliflower tonight and did it with the lid ON just to see what happens .... nada bad smell wise ! . Perhaps you are just more attuned to the negative cabbagy smells than I am !

I like sauerkraut on sandwiches and hotdogs.

I made kale tonight and understand why people say it stinks. The bitter flavor put me off more than the smell. How do you cook it and make it taste good short of adding lots of sugar?

At the time, I'm not aware of it, and actually enjoy the aromas of cooking. But then the next morning when I go into the kitchen, it's like a refresher course of the previous night's greens-for-dinner. Always been that way. Love the smell while they're cooking. Mm good cooking.

Best way to get your kale, in my opinion, is a smoothie. Add avocado, banana and apple juice to the kale in a blender. No bitterness at all. It makes a delicious beverage packed with vitamin c and folic acid.
