I thought she was a cute girl. Now it's going to feel weird watching Inception. But I can always pretend Ellen died and Elliot is some relative. And when I hear the name Elliot, I think of the kid from E.T.

She wasn't a man before. To be honest she wasn't exactly Barbie before either.

Whatever makes people happy I guess. I don’t really understand how calling yourself a different name fixes or changes anything, but there’s a lot of things I probably don’t understand so...whatever makes you happy.

Something as simple as changing your name can do more than you might think. It is sort of like how actors say it is easier to get into their role just by wearing different clothes.

Like I says, whatever makes people happy. I’ve never put much weight into pronouns or titles...hell even names. I’ve been answering to the wrong names my whole life, never really bothered me. But different things seem important to different people.

While I don't really care, reading the Variety article so suddenly after the announcement is playing with my brain as they immediately to calling Elliott him along with the announcement that he was Elliot Page.

Who said this is hurting anyone? It's a discussion on a discussion forum about a famous person which is sort of what we do here at forum HQ.

Don’t most transgender people usually go through surgery and/or hormone therapy? I wouldn’t know. It seems to me there’s varying levels of transformation. Some may just change a name and a pronoun and others get the old outside-in...you know?
