I wouldn't be surprised if this is attempted. It's a money-making franchise and a studio will never stop trying to squeeze more money out of it. The idea for a fourth film will be strengthened if Godfather Coda sells well.

Wouldn’t surprise me. Paramount is desperate.

There was a GF IV project out there after III. It would have taken place between the end of the flashbacks in II to Connie's wedding at the beginning of I. When Mario Puzo died, GF IV died too.

There have been Godfather books written after Puzo's death that have kept the storyline going. I read one which featured the sad death of Tom Hagen.
I would imagine films could be produced based on these books, though I'm hoping this is all just a crappy idea.

I don't see what the point is, there can't seriously be a huge demand for this. Coppola might as well be making "Jack 2".

Just as long as she doesn't act in it.

No. Just no. The story has been told. Where else can they take it? This sounds like a bad idea.

If it's done, it's all being done just to keep the Godfather name going.

CBS so far has done a pretty good job of resurrecting their existing IP
