The list seems very confusing. It consists of several films that feature love interest of main characters.

My fave would be Stand By Me...I don’t assume having a married couple as side characters counts.

I don't think the first Hobbit movie had a love interest.

I don't think the first Hobbit movie had a love interest. Would you consider that a great movie? :/

I actually have no issues with a romantic interest as long as it makes sense. It's just another version of relationship building which draws us closer to the characters.
I would prefer people already have a history with each other as opposed to the meeting, then hating each other, until they love each other.

I'm assuming a casual acquaintance or one night stand does not apply.

I would think that "3 Women" has zilch in the love interest department, but Millie does an awful lot of flirting with Bob, and there seems to be a certain kind of affection between Pinky's older parents. What about "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest"? I don't see any romantic love in that movie. Or "Lawrence of Arabia" (which i didn't much care for).

The original Lethal Weapon Die Hard With a Vengeance Halloween Escape From New York This is is what confuses me. I assume romantic interest is not the same thing as romantic. I mean Mel Gibson’s character is defined by the loss of his wife and Glovers is happily married.

But neither of those relationships were portrayed as romantic in the movie; obviously Riggs' late wife while defining his character wasn't romantic for him, unlike Rika was in LW 2. And while Murtaugh was married, there weren't any romantic scenes between him and his wife, just a typical married couple running a home.

I don't think the first Hobbit movie had a love interest. Evangeline Lilly's elf character was.

The notion that marriage in and of itself not a romantic relationship is bizarre. But if we are going by active romance than that would wipe out any movie where the characters are married or pining for love lost but no boinking.
