So I guess they mean love interests that are introduced in the main story? Because Sam Neill and Laura Dern are clearly a couple in Jurassic Park.

They didn't come across as a couple at all in JP if they were then they didn't really show that part of their relationship very well. Really good colleagues and friends who studied dinosaur bones together for years yes but other than that no.

For the record, we need more of them, a LOT more of them.
Clue.

And later Grant confirmed it to Malcolm before the Trex attack.

I thought of that one. I saw it on the big screen a few years back. It was beautiful to look at, but that was it for me. I did notice that with its extreme length, it had zero female representation. David Lean seemed like a sweet, gentle man, but his movies were not the ones I went for. "Brief Encounter" would be the only one I could watch a second time.

Tropic Thunder, unless you want to count Alpa Cino and Lance Bass of course.
I agree with a previous post, we could use a lot more films without a generic love interest part of the story.

Ha! that's funny coming from you but anyway maybe I have forgotten a few things about JP it's been a long time since I watched it, but even politicidal said that the only romantic scene between the two wasn't included. Sam Neill maybe wasn't convincing or maybe he was just too much of a gentleman either way I wasn't feeling the sexual tension or spark between the two. She had way more chemistry with Malcolm than with Alan by far.
