It appeared in the 1896 edition of Fannie Farmerβs βBoston Cooking-School Cookbook.β 1/3 cup butter 1/3 cup powdered sugar 1/3 cup Porto Rico molasses 1 egg well beaten 7/8 cup bread flour 1 cup pecan meat cut in pieces Mix ingredients in order given. Bake in small, shallow fancy cake tins, garnishing top of each cake with one-half pecan.

Not a big fan of brownies, they are so greasy but I do enjoy a blondie once in a while.

A blondie is like a brownie but does not have cocoa in it, they have a strong vanilla flavor, my favorite blondies are the ones that have chocolate chips. I've never made them but have received them as "food gifts" in the past.

Bake in small, shallow fancy cake tins, garnishing top of each cake with one-half pecan. i made this recipe doubled (same ratios) and turned out great! also didn't put a pecan on top. as molasses is pretty nutty to me already.
