His most recent movie flops because of extreme theater restrictions during a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic, so now he’s “finished”? That’s ridiculous. OP didn't say his opinion has anything to do with that. But it’s what he really means. If it releases like normal, it’d have made $500+ million and there’s nothing to complain about. It’s ridiculous to think he’s going down the shitter because of poor sound mixing/perceived poor dialogue writing anyway. Mainstream audiences don’t care.

The OP is talking about his own opinion and asking who else agrees. Tenet is one of his lowest rated movies and the OP also said he thinks Dunkirk is boring.

And I said I thought that was ridiculous. No, you misrepresented his complaint as being based on box-office. I called you on it and now you are trying to change what you said. With that being said, I have issues with what the OP's argument. He is using Tenet to disregard Christopher Nolan based on his own opinion and the majority reviews, but then completely ignores the high praise that Dunkirk receives. It is silly to assume Nolan is "tapped out" even if Tenet is one of his lesser movies, especially after the love that Dunkirk and Interstellar get around here.

His dialogue is horrible. Artificial. People speak in a lecturing tone or reveal plot action through a declaration rather than character behavior. "you are here to ask me for one of my students."

I’m saying each subsequent film since Inception has gotten worse. Interstellar, Dunkirk, then Tenet. It feels like each film has gotten worse.

I suppose I'm just used to arguing box office numbers with Tenet at this point and I looked for a subtext that was never there - my apologies. I still disagree with you, though. Interstellar is my least favorite of those three, and you're missing The Dark Knight Rises in 2012 (which you very well may hate too, I'm not sure). I think Nolan has become more seasoned and impressive as a director, but almost too ambitious as a writer. His ideas just don't always completely come together the way they did in movies like Memento, The Prestige, or The Dark Knight. That being said, the reason for that (I believe) is, again, his blind ambition. That's why I'm not worried about some of his inconsistencies and I fully expect him to get better as both a writer and director.

So I just re-watched Tenet and I like it even more this time.
I think the movie purposely gets more disordered and more confusing as it goes on. The movie's entropy increases as the plot moves forward.

Overall no, he's not tapped out, but I accept I'm not always guaranteed to like what he does. In my opinion his ambitions as a storytelling are greater than his ability as a storyteller. Sure, he can get on a crane and shoot the most breathtaking action scene I've seen in years, but if I can't understand why I'm watching this action scene, I'll become numb to it pretty quick. This was the case with Inception, Dark Knight Rises and Tenet. In these films it always feels like he's cutting the films within an inch of their lives, and something is lost in those margins that helps explain the action. There's also just a total coldness to his movies, it's shocking that he can load up his movies with beautiful women such as Elizabeth Debicki, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Scarlett Johansson, Marion Cottilard, and their scenes emit no heat whatsoever. It's as if he's writing these women's roles as post-menopausal.
