Do you think Nolan is finally being seen as more of an idea man with good dialogue.
But his films (especially Tenet) are now starting to be seen as contrived and pseudo intelligent fodder.
I love “The Dark Knight” and “Inception” but outside of that, I find a lot of his films to be inaudible and boring.
Dunkirk is better than Ambien. And it’s a war film.

I don't think so. Tenet wasn't my favorite of Nolan but it was still better than most blockbusters that came out recently. Plus I don't think it's even the worst movie directed by him.

Still better than most blockbusters recently? As in this year recently? Because blank screens in empty cinemas I wouldn't count as competition.

Nolan has made one movie that doesn't suck, it's Batman Begins.

Meh. I think he'd have to have a bomb akin to Waterworld or Battlefield Earth or something in order for that to happen.

He should make a movie with a talking pie that goes back in time for some reason and is voiced by Gilbert Gotfried.

No.
He needs to start going smaller though and less convoluted. I really like Tenet, but it is his most forced script. It is still more creative, more interesting and more ambitious than most other modern blockbusters imo.

I wouldn't say that, but I didn't love his comments about his sound mixing. He sounds like an egomaniac. I haven't seen Tenet yet, but I'm still excited to see it.

What were his comments about his sound mixing? “We got a lot of complaints. I actually got calls from other filmmakers who would say, ‘I just saw your film, and the dialogue is inaudible.’ Some people thought maybe the music’s too loud, but the truth was it was kind of the whole enchilada of how we had chosen to mix it.” “It was a very, very radical mix,” he went on. “I was a little shocked to realize how conservative people are when it comes to sound. Because you can make a film that looks like anything, you can shoot on your iPhone, no one’s going to complain. But if you mix the sound a certain way, or if you use certain sub-frequencies, people get up in arms.”

I figured he mixes the sound that way on purpose. It happens in too many of his movies for it to be accidental. I don't think the dialogue in any of his movies is inaudible overall though. I understood everything Bane says in TDKR for example. Tenet is his most extreme case of questionable sound mixing, I'll say that. Some parts you have to really be paying attention and there are a handful of lines of dialogue I couldn't fully understand.

Admittedly I haven't had a problem hearing any dialogue in his films myself, but he's essentially saying, I'm an experimental arr-teest. I don't care if you can hear the dialogue.

His most recent movie flops because of extreme theater restrictions during a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic, so now he’s “finished”?
That’s ridiculous.
