MCDemuth Is not what ransom was saying : whatever picture someone wants to watch at Christmas time makes it a Christmas Movie whether it is set at Christmas or not ... thus the Polar Express comparison. actual quote Following her pretzel logic is pretty impossible.

Ben-Hur?
Definitely not the 2016 version, but the 1925 and 1959 versions begin with Mary and Joseph, the Wise Men, and the Nativity. I watch both versions near Christmas. I’ve been watching the 1925 version every Christmas Eve night for the last 26 years.

There is a station that shows The Ten Commandments at Christmas time !
I suppose they think that any "religious film" with lots of Big Name actors will suffice. Maybe the equally inappropriate The Passion of the Christ is too recent to be in their film library !

True, but he's right, Die Hard & LW are not festive films. In his and your opinions. To be fair I'd rather watch Die Hard and Lethal Weapon on Christmas than Bad Santa, Fred Claus, Four Christmases and all the other more recent crap. They feel more like Christmas films than those at least.

Bad Santa doesn't sound like your normal kiddie Christmas movie for overgrown children but the title could be misleading.

I've yet to find a better Christmas film than the animated short The Snowman. The CG midlength film about a small Christmas tree named Albert is very good too. After that, maybe the Home Alone movies.

It's strange that there's more genuine festive warmth in Die Hard and Lethal Weapon than in fake stuff like Bad Santa or Fred Claus.

Its hard but if I could only ever watch one for the rest of my years it would be Scrooge (1970) with Albert Finney.
Honorable mentions to Gremlins and Christmas Vacation.

You used go by the name Lonestarr Winniebago/P.F.C Marine Corps/Henrdy William French/Scott Sinclair/Swede Johannson when you posted on the old IMDb boards. You had multiple accounts and you used to argue with yourself. Recently you posted under stefancrosscoe pretending to be a norwegian. You're one of the most annoying, delusional stupid person I've ever encountered on the internet. I can spot your cringe-inducing posting style anywhere.

I don´t have a favorite Christmas movie, but according to my mood, I could watch any of these not really Christmas movies:

A Christmas movie should be whatever you enjoy watching on Christmas regardless of if it has blood sucking zombies in it or not. True, but he's right, Die Hard & LW are not festive films. Oh ffs, John McClane even says: "Welcome to the party, pal". How is that not festive?

I don't have just one favourite movie in any genre. I have hundreds. It's impossible to have 1 "favourite" movie.
Anyways, the Christmas movies that I like are Home Alone 1 and 2, Mixed Nuts, Bad Santa, Jingle All the Way, Christmas Vacation, Fred Claus, The Santa Clause, Christmas with the Kranks, The Polar Express, Elf, The Ten Commandments etc.
And Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are not Christmas movies.

Not a Xmas film, but in the UK it was on every single Xmas without fail and I never missed it. "The Great Escape".

HOW is the Ten Commandments even remotely a Christmas Movie ? I ask because a local station also seems to think it is. It's a "religious epic" that has NOTHING to do with Christmas.

"YOU THINK YOU'RE THE FIRST?!"
Just kidding, but I did like Fatman. Home Alone is my favorite.
