I do consider those Christmas movies. Technically they are .... but they totally lack the "Christmas spirit" ..they are just mean ! I actually don't find Bad Santa to be a mean-spirited movie and it is sneaky in how it does have Christmas spirit. It works in all the ways that Scrooged doesn't.

The Lion in Winter is on TCM at this moment. Takes place at Christmas. Is it a Christmas movie?

moviemouth I'll take your word about Bad Santa. I like BB Thornton, but after seeing the trailer never bothered with the whole movie. I absolutely hated Scrooged.... even gave it a second try to make sure I had just not been in the mood for it. Still hated it !
![](https://s26.postimg.cc/tn4cwxme1/xmas.gif) Karloff Grinch and Claymation Christmas on the agenda before the 25th !

What I’m getting at with this thread is, if you believe it’s a Christmas movie, then it is. I could easily say Home Alone and Jingle all the Way have nothing to do with the Birth of Jesus and therefore aren’t Christmas at all. Neither does Die Hard... That’s not what I’m trying to say. I’m Just saying everyone has a different view of what Christmas means.

Anna and the Apocalypse is all about Christmas. Just with zombies. And a lot of great singing and intentionally bad dancing.

I’d say one where Christmas is pivotal to the plot...either in spirit or actuality.
