@thegodfatherpartii already has a thread on this topic; I just thought it’d be interesting to see it as a poll. So—what’s your favorite film adaptation of Dickens’ much-adapted tale?
As much as I admire several—particularly Seymour Hicks’ and Alastair Sim’s versions—my favorite as of the moment is the George C. Scott version.

I enjoy Alistair Sim and George C Scott's takes, but I voted for the Patrick Stewart version.

Purists hate me!
(I like/love most of the others too; Dickens wrote one of the greatest stories ever told)

I voted for the Muppet version, mostly because I was surprised of how well it actually worked.
I'm the one by the way who still haven't seen the Alastair Sim version.
I liked parts of the Albert Finney version, and the "Thank You Very Much" song.
It's not a story I remember hearing about from my childhood, and the only version I remember was a cheaply made one-hour version by BBC starring Michael Hordern.

Alternate between Scott and Sims as the "favorite".
Hated Scrooged and Finney left me feeling "meh" bordering on "ugh" !

‘09Purists hate me! (I like/love most of the others too; Dickens wrote one of the greatest stories ever told) I am not a purist, I just think the movie is overblown and boring. I like The Muppet Christmas Carol even less. I am unable to take it seriously on any level. Muppets and drama do not go well together.

1951, easily. It's my #38 all-time.

I love the 38 version. The 51 is close though.
