And how old were you?
The first two things I learned to cook were mashed potatoes, and grilled cheese sandwiches, both when I was 10.

grilled cheese when I was 12, I'm not much of a cook, I just turn on the oven and put the stuff in.

I was allowed to bake a few cakes (from box mix), when I was 9-10. Mom would supervise. In adulthood, I think it's been 40 years, since I've baked a cake.
And, I remember cooking bacon, and scrambled eggs, around the same age. But, that wasn't on a standard kitchen stove. I was too small, and wouldn't have been allowed to cook bacon, standing on a chair. I was visiting my grandparents, who had a house in Oregon, with a basement where my Grandmother did wash, and hung clothes during rainy weather ... which is often, in Oregon. There was a small, old-fashioned wood-burning cook stove in the basement. I was tall enough to stand above the top of it. Under Grandma's watchful eye, I got to cook "breakfast," although I think it was later in the day. She was a teacher, and was always encouraging when it came to having kids try new things.

I think it was probably brownies from a mix, around age 9-10. Though I often made supper when my mom wasn't feeling well. My brother can't stand tuna noodle casserole to this day since it seemed to be one of my go tos too often! :-)

Probably marshmallows. Earliest cooking I can remember doing. I have no idea how old I was but I probably cooked my first hot dog at about that age. On a stick, of course.

I remember making a hamburger with cinnamon and wondering why it didn't taste good since I liked both. Added more cinnamon. Tasted worse.

Hot dogs I suppose, but that probably shouldn't count - heating them up in boiling water hardly qualifies as "cooking".
In our home when growing up the kids never did any cooking. The first thing I learned to cook was probably pasta with a ready-made sauce, in my mid- to late-teens.

Soup or other simple stove top cooking. Donβt remember exact age, 8-10 range I think.

LOL! I think it's a safe bet you were alone on that one.
