It's not horror though is it?
It's drama/thriller at best.

It's not horror though is it? It's drama/thriller at best. The first one is probably the closest to horror. It's also weird in that it's the lamest one that does the least with the concept. Not that the other ones are any good in particular, but it's the only series I'm aware of in which the first movie is clearly the weakest.

The concept, the films, not horror, just rubbish. File under the same genre as The Hunger Games (which quite frankly is more plausible, and closer to horror). How did anyone start filing The Purge franchise under horror 🤷♀️ It isn't.

The sequels at least make some sense out of the idea and show more of what it would look like outside of one house. Again, not very good, but there's more there than the first one at least. The reason the first one is considered horror is because it centers around a home invasion by masked assailants. Whether or not it plays out like a horror movie, which arguably it does, it has that clichéd horror imagery. Plus... they slapped Blumhouse above the title. So they call it horror for that reason.

Yes, they are, although the first one is more than the others.

Where is the cake?
