bloody-disgusting.com/tv/3653454/fear-walking-dead-creator-turning-stephen-kings-jaunt-series/They'll have to add quite a bit to stretch this thing out. Will it be about the backstory that the father tells the family of the history of the 'jaunt' and the guy who created it, or will it be about the family who is taking this jaunt and what happens? I always thought that it would make for a compelling short within and anthology or something, and I heard that somebody was developing it as a feature, which I thought might work but would really be stretching the story beyond what is there. Now they want it to be an ongoing series.

It's a good time to be $tephen King. He's been on a roll the last several years.

I have a strong hunch this is the route they'll take. It gives the writers much more material to play around with.

I have a strong hunch this is the route they'll take. It gives the writers much more material to play around with. I would guess so too. I wonder if they'd bother using the family getting ready to 'jaunt' as a framing device or not. It's really the entire impact of the story, but it also would kind of be pointless for a series. Maybe they'd do that just in the first episode or something, and then flashback? I could kinda see that working, where the first episode is a fairly faithful adaptation of the story and then it goes back to stretch out the creator's story into a longer thing. Obviously the concept of teleporation with this one unbearable flaw can be expanded beyond this pretty brief work, but I think anyone who reads it comes away feeling the impact of these particular characters and the way it turns out for them.

I'd rather this be a movie. They went the TV show route with Under the Dome and it sucked.

It would be a good hour, one-time show. A series? No.
