Season 2, Episode 29
It's the first episode I've ever seen that wasn't in black & white. Strange thing, but I only recalled episodes in B&W as far as I remembered....ever.
My memory must be getting foggy.

Only S1 was in black & white. Really? Wow, gosh darnit. My memory is REALLY dusty then! I prefer the B&W.

Perhaps this color ep from S4 can jog your memory, old Gomer could really sing.

It's funny but sometimes with this show and with The Andy Griffith Show the color episodes look "dated" but the B&W episodes seem timeless. It doesn't bother me though. I love all seasons of both shows.

Perhaps this color ep from S4 can jog your memory, old Gomer could really sing. I was already familiar with his singing, so it surprised me to see his doofus and backwater Gomer Pyle character. When he sang, he was so suave. Seemed like an entirely different person. So different!

Black and white TAGS is the only way to go. I agree 100%. The color episodes of TAGS were a big step down in quality for me. Obviously, no Don Knotts has a lot to do with that, but also the way they made Andy's character so much more gruff and unfriendly was a mistake. Sheriff Taylor just didn't feel like the same guy in the color episodes.

I watch Gomer Pyle every week day night on ME-tv. I'm starting to get reruns from last year. No fun. Green acres follows Gomer so I watch that.
