The Negan War is forming. I found it interesting that they decided to create an all new community (not one in the books)... It was very "Mad Max"-y. The zombie fighter/monster was creepy. Can't wait for sides to be fully drawn.. and the war begins.

The hotel I was staying at didn;t have AMC. I was not impressed by the first half of the season at all, but I was looking for improvement in the second half now that they have coalesced in a fighting group again.

I think Winslow, the pit walker, was played by Beetlejuice.

There is a Walking Dead board, you know. Yeah?... So what? There are several Walking Dead websites.. I didn't post on any of them either. I'm not interested in having a discussion with people I don't know.

I'm not interested in having a discussion with people I don't know. So get to know them. Not only is it off-topic here, but this is a huge forum with - so far - very low member count, which means most boards are going to be fairly empty. And they are going to stay that way if people post things in their favourite board (treating it as a general one) rather than the appropriate one. So go, breathe some life into the Walking Dead board. It may be populated mostly by tumbleweed at the moment, but there is only one way to remedy that situation. Build it and they will come.

This board was and is still listed as a general board on the IMDb and on this site. The admin has already stated he will make allowances for off-topic posting on this board because of our ten year history as a community. People here will continue to discuss different topics with the posters we know as we have done for years. If this board is strictly limited to the suggested topic, before long you're going to find it getting stale.

This is a specific board within the general category (which is a different use of the word than I did in my last post), which is not only a different specific board, but a different general board as well. RFS and Walking Dead are both specific subforums within general headings. "Popular TV series", in spite of not being in the general section, is nevertheless a general forum.

Karl AkselWell, the board members had already traded for off-topic threads when Admin had offered his site on RFS board. I guess it has been the tradition on RFS for many years that it serves as all-purpose board for those who become attached to the place. The same as it was on IMDB RFS.

Sulla yes, the issue again came up today. Yes, the admin had promised for allowing off-topic and he will stick to it. Good. Because I didn't join here until I specifically asked the admin about this subject. We've been doing this for many years and the board was never in danger of being taken over by The Walking Dead fans or Sports fans or fans of any movie. The blocking function is always available for those who object.

Karl Aksel Well, the board members had already traded for off-topic threads when Admin had offered his site on RFS board. I guess it has been the tradition on RFS for many years that it serves as all-purpose board for those who become attached to the place. The same as it was on IMDB RFS. I never saw any threads specific to movies or series on the old IMDb RFS. There were off-topic posts, yes, but mostly dealing with politics or recent events. And I can certainly understand not wanting to take political questions to the Political forum on IMDb, because that place was unbearable. I never posted there - but I do post on the politics forum here. Furthermore, I do not think that on the old boards, that Vegas would have posted this thread in the RFS board. There's off topic, and then there's off topic. And like I pointed out, my main objection here is that posting this kind of off topic posts will only contribute to leave the appropriate board, well, dead.

"I never saw any threads specific to movies or series on the old IMDb RFS."
There were plenty of them. Merv had a tradition of starting "Flicks I Seen" threads where we discussed a specific movie or movies. Smith had a similar one. There were also threads about Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones, Star Wars and many others.

There were also threads about Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones, Star Wars and many others. Hey, I remember "Flicks I Seen". Never bothered to read it. But that was a thread dedicated to movies in general, so while still massively off topic (which is why I never bothered to read it), it was still not a thread which drew your attention to a specific title. Besides, the place was swamped with trolls and incidental posters anyway, I didn't see how it would help to even report each case. New forum, however, new opportunities. I like to nip such things in the bud if I can. And besides, with limited number of members, we need to vitalize the smaller boards, too, and not gather them all here. Centralisation is the bane of the districts, and even hurts the hubs in the long run. The last thing I want to see is for this forum to gravitate towards one giant board, with all the smaller boards made redundant. The smaller boards would then be deleted because there would not be enough traffic to justify their existence, and the few big boards would be absolutely swamped and - as with certain boards on the IMDb - unbearable.

And if everyone decided to eat at the same restaurant on the same night there would be chaos. The fact is, it doesn't happen. Anyone else who wishes to discuss The Walking Dead doesn't come to the RFS board. Since there is no board for TWD, there are only threads on the television boards. There's no danger of those boards dying off. This thread has been up for 18 hours and has only attracted one non-regular who just stopped by to post a couple of pics.
You're concerned about a potential problem which isn't likely to happen unless large numbers of people leave this site for reasons which have nothing to do with the few off-topic posters on this board.
