Don't they measure in advance how many doses they'll get per shipment of vials?
Just measure, and book that many appointments. Then if they have "leftover" supplies, just give them to people who are still in line. There will always be people who are still waiting in line. Why not give the shots to them instead of throwing them away and forcing those other people to start the process all over again on another day and get back into the system and book an official appointment?
It's just about technicality? Sheesh, we're talking about trying to contain a pandemic. Why be so petty as to just throw the medication out? It's all just to prove a point?

I suspect some people, for one reason or another, don't show up for their appointment.
Apparently, the vials hold slightly more than the number indicated.
I get the jab Friday.

When people don't show up for appointments. Some places around here will give the jab away to anyone if someone misses their appt, and they schedule you for the 2nd shot. But last I read our county has tossed only 11 vaccines so I haven't tried getting one.
