My cups are almost frozen. *Bang!* *Bang!* *Bang!* I can conk them on the table and these puppies are like stone. I tried biting into one, and thought I'd break a tooth. Tried breaking one in half and it just smeared my fingers in chocolate. Wow. Cold. Considering they weren't even in the fridge?

Maybe just put one in your mouth and let it melt?

Maybe just put one in your mouth and let it melt? I have a small mouth, so an entire cup wouldn't fit. Also, I like small bites and the experience of chewing. I even eat ice-cream as opposed to licking.

GI C Rations had chocolate disks that were so hard it was difficult to bite off a piece. (I presume this was so they wouldn't turn into puddles in tropical climes.) Most simply gnawed on them. They were nicknamed "John Wayne cookies" because only the Duke could bite into them.

There were crackers in many C Rations that were called "hardtack", perhaps only as a nod to the 19th-century staple. Here's a video with the most dreaded C Rat of the 20th century. The slang term for it was "Beans and MFers".

Pretty sad what we made our soldiers march on, given what they were expected to do. That meal looked rank AF, didn't it? Granted, the age didn't help, but pee-yoo!

I disliked being within ten feet of anyone who had to eat one of those things! The salisbury steak, spaghetti and meatballs, and chicken C Rats were tolerable. It must seem odd today to see a small pack of cigarettes in each package! There are "vintage" C Rats on eBay, in case anyone is interested.

I will say that I needed a cold shower after reading your title...
Just because I'm still in the shower means nothing!! Just a coincidence.

You should write them an email suggesting they make almond butter cup minis like Reese's did with their pb cups. I'm going to try these the next time I order from Amazon. Which will be awhile what with WB Shop and Kino sales and various cuopon codes from other sites going on. But I won't forget. I love almonds and cashews. I'm going to look in at Amazon now just to see how much they cost.

I'm allergic to peanut butter, which is why I eat the almond butter ones. They're very good, and what I like about them, especially with the dark chocolate, is there's not a lot of sugar, so they're not very sweet at all. The almond butter inside isn't smooshy or creamy but feels like ground whole almonds. Things just seem not as processed. I found some other brands that come in little bite-sized portions, but they're by a different company. Poking around on Amazon you can find anything.

Nothing would stay frozen in my kitchen when I cook for an hour.

I also don't cook all day long. I have a very large house, so keeping them in the pantry keeps them cool and away from any direct or indirect heat or sun. This might be a different conversation if this were August.
