It was so good! Plus it hit all the notes that the Oscars seem to like these days: Period piece, foreign language, homosexual (or in this case lesbian) romance, based off a well known book. I feel like it got lost in the shuffle up to this year's award ceremony(s).

Well, South Korea submitted another film as its official entry for the Oscars' foreign language film category. As for the other categories that this film could have gotten nominated for (like cinematography, etc) , I suppose there just wasn't a strong campaign for this film.

Lesbian = homosexual  . To answer the question, tho: It's a travesty! The cinematography, product design, costume design should've been nominated and be frontrunners. I dont know which distributor picked it up for the American market but they did one lousy job in the campaign! |
