I still love it though all the cool stores have been slowly disappearing over the years. Soon it will all be clothing stores. The Mall I favor near me has just closed their Gaming store, which sold Role Playing games/Poker and Pool tables, Dart Boards, Statues, Arcade games etc. I used to go there high and play Ms Pacman sometimes. I'm gonna miss it.

I used to go to two...
One is in a high traffic, mega business area... so, I don't go up there much. But it is still going on strong, with all the money flowing out in that area...
The other, has all but died. With the exception of a Target as an anchor store, there is nothing but vacancies, or local mom & pop type business in there. I can't even name any of them. Even the MCL Cafeteria is gone. (I loved MCL Cafeteria.) Sadly it was easier for me to get to, and there was less traffic along the way.
Stores like Walmart & Meijer... and Online consumerism, is killing brick & mortar stores...
Oddly, I just don't understand why people like to buy items, based on some picture posted to a website. I like to see the items before I buy them. I try to only buy online items, when I can't find them in the stores, which seem to happening more and more.
Sadly, I think, the Golden Era of Malls is in the past.

I had a blast going with my dad when I was a kid. Granted, this was back before online stores like Amazon started to dominate the market. We would play arcade games for a few hours. I must have went through quarters like no tomorrow. Sadly, the one closest to me caved under the pressure of people online shopping. They went out of business in 2009. I now have to travel some 15 - 20 miles one way. I still enjoy going to the mall, but only around the holidays because they deck the entire place out with decorations. It's so beautiful. Just that alone makes it worth my while.

I love going to the mall and shopping centres and I can't believe some people no longer go shopping and do it all online. I order some things online from sites like Amazon, Booktopia and JBHIFI but I still love going to the shops and looking at things, buying them and taking them home and bumping into people I haven't seen in a while. I feel sorry for the following generations 'cause they will miss out on that.

"Soon it will all be clothing stores." Sadly, this trend is really on a roll now. I have been a movie/music fan since the late 90s, and everytime a music/movie store closes down, you know that is always gonna be taken over by another clothing store. The video games I remember too, as a kid. Those were great times, 15-20 kids would gather around to watch one of us play at the arcade machine, it did not matter if one got to play or not, just to be there and hang around with my friends, it was a blast. Now most of the mall/shopping centres all seem and look the same. The same stores and the same products.

I do. Every other store is a Foot Locker, Athlete's Foot, Finish Line... I don't know how they compete. I like the novelty stores. Spencers, Hot Topc, Zumies...

I really don't anymore, especially at holiday time. Hell, I don't even like going to Walmart. Having to park a mile away, walking another half mile in the store to get what you want. Long lines to check out and few cashiers or sales help. But I'm a guy, not a shopper and browser. If I need something I want to be in and out ASAP! I prefer the smaller strip malls where you can park close to the actual store you wish to go to.

Well, checking out women at the mall is as good as ever.
And I still go to malls occasionally. But most malls I like less/care about less than I used to.
Some of the main attractions for me were record stores and book stores, but both of those are gone from most malls now.
Of course, I also don't buy "phyiscal" copies of records or books much any longer. I stream or buy downloads, including books for my kindle.
And although I'm a gamer, I don't really care about Gamestop, because I can get games so much cheaper on Amazon, and I can make sure I find the best edition of a game for me.
I still buy some clothing at malls. I buy a lot of clothing online or in more niche shops that aren't located in malls, though.

When I need clothes, I still go to the big stores attached to the end of the mall, so if that counts, I still go to the mall. Do I still like it? Kind I of. There's nothing like a mall at Christmas. And I do like the atmosphere overall, but the mall also reminds me that I've gotten older and am no longer "relevant."
I do miss the variety of stores. We used to have science stores, music stores, video stores, kitchen stores, book stores, novelty stores, art stores, candle stores, trinket stores, furniture stores, and so on, but now the mall is mostly filled with clothing stores of some kind, and of those, 80% are for girls and 15% are for young men who prefer trendy clothes.

I go a few times a year. Generally, only when I'm going to see a film.

I rarely shop there, but I love walking around and enjoying the atmosphere, especially considering that they may very well become extinct in my lifetime.

Loved it as a teenager. Don't miss it at all now. Online shopping is so much more efficient.
