Michael Jai White. I'd have to assume this will be kinda tongue-in-cheek, and he was in a movie called Black Dynamite that was sorta part spoof part re-creation of a 70s blaxploitation movie, and even though it's not great he's awesome in it.

Blacula in the age of PC and Cancel Culture.
I can just imagine.

They could have developed the Dr Thomas character into something for a sequel or series. He was kind of like a Van Helsing and Kolchak and yet not eccentric. I liked the fact that he and Mamuwalde did not sympathize with each other. Mamuwalde did not want any sympathy from anyone. It's the only case of the reincarnated love angle that worked--in other vampires I can't stand that.
I guess Dark Shadows isn't so bad since it is a soap opera but it's really bad when done for Dracula.
Are they going to have Blade vs Blacula? That could be awkward.

Whoever is cast as the new Prince Mamuwalde/Blacula, they'll need to bring dignity to the part.
Regardless of the original film's low budget & quickie production values, William Marshall has dignity and nobility to spare. You instantly believe he's a prince -- cultured and highly educated, with a sense of responsibility to his people.
